Have you managed to get all the right gifts for everyone this year? Are you planning to spend the time with your family and friends? Perhaps traveling, cooking, cleaning…? Planning activities mostly for others to benefit…?
How about you? Has your generosity this year been only limited to others? Are you going to have some time to rest, relax, and simply be? If you are like me, you may be forgetting a bit about that. Thankfully for me, my regular meditation practice reminds me to take that time away from doing. It reminds me to give my body, mind and heart a moment of peace. There is so much written about this topic that I feel like a parrot! Nobody questions these days that we cannot just take care of everyone else without taking care of ourselves. Yet, we still often do it. Especially during Christmas or other holidays when we give and give to others, and we tend to neglect ourselves.
